Hi, I’m Alex

Hi, my name is Alex and I’m from Berlin. I hold a postgraduate degree in computer engineering. My journey into client projects began as soon as I started university. While I already had experience in web development, my primary focus was on embedded systems, which I was most passionate about learning.

My dream has always been to understand how computers work, from single atoms to the fully assembled devices that shape our daily lives. Despite this fascination, I pursued a career as a full-stack software engineer with a strong specialization in web and app technologies.

I aim to write about a decade of experience, along with my personal views on development and technology. Instead of creating a traditional portfolio website, I will share my past, current and future projects through this blog.

Additionally, this blog will serve as a sandbox to test new ideas and outline innovative application architectures that come to mind. Solving technical problems and optimizing processes are among my favorite topics.

Why does reducing JavaScript make a website perform faster, and how can the same UI/UX be achieved with less of it? How can I enhance my development workflow using remotely built containers, but using my own VPS? What does it take to lower server costs while increasing throughput and application performance? These are the kinds of challenges that drive me every day, pushing me to experiment and find better solutions.

To tackle these questions, I regularly reflect on key aspects of modern development, including:

✨ The Era of Artificial Intelligence

As I step into the ever-evolving world of Artificial Intelligence, I aim to integrate it into my content, not only to enhance my work but also to challenge myself to keep pace with technological advancements. AI is a powerful tool, and I plan to integrate it into my future projects in meaningful ways.

There are already several AI-driven workflows that I use regularly, including:

• Enhancing and refining text through translations and corrections
• Casual conversations just for fun
• Explaining code and documentation, especially for new topics
• Conducting business research on specific subjects

Because of its versatility, I highly recommend exploring and interacting with Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve efficiency and streamline workflows. However, it’s essential to approach AI with a critical mindset. While it can provide valuable insights, it ultimately reflects patterns from its training data, which, like all human-created data, contains errors. Staying curious while keeping a healthy dose of skepticism is key. 🙂
